Eric Weaver is in his first season as head coach of the San Jacinto College baseball team. He was a standout college pitcher and has more than 10 years of successful coaching experience, bringing with him talents and strengths that will no doubt help the San Jac baseball team.
Coach Weaver comes to San Jac from Blinn College, where he has served as associate head coach for the past two seasons. Weaver was part of a Blinn program that went 47-17 in 2024, en route to winning the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) national championship. The 2024 squad was ranked fourth in the NJCAA preseason rankings, and won the 2023 conference, region and super-regional before finishing fourth in the nation at the 2023 JUCO World Series. Weaver also served as Blinn's co-recruiting coordinator, pitching coach and third base coach, and was the athletic advisor for three men's sports.
Prior to his coaching stint at Blinn, Weaver served as an assistant coach for San Jac for eight seasons, where he oversaw pitching and was the co-recruiting coordinator and was also in charge of baseball facilities and was the team’s academic advisor. Those teams made six trips to the JUCO World Series, including two national runner-up finishes, as well as secured seven Region XIV South championships.
Prior to his time at San Jac, Weaver got his start in the college ranks at Alvin Community College, where he served as an assistant coach for three years. During his tenure, Weaver helped Alvin win a conference championship in 2014 and earn two regional championship appearances in 2013 and 2014. In 2014, Alvin was ranked as high as third in the nation in the Perfect Game poll, the highest national ranking in the college’s history. Also in 2014, Weaver served as an assistant coach in the Karl Young Collegiate League, a Houston-area summer league. He went on to serve as head coach in 2015 and 2016.
Weaver graduated from Deer Park High School in 2003, where he was a two-sport standout, earning all-district honors in baseball and football. He went on to be a starting pitcher at Alvin Community College and was voted to the Texas/New Mexico JUCO All-Star game after his freshman year. He was the team’s MVP in 2006, earning all-conference recognition.
Weaver continued his academic and baseball career at Texas State University, where he was the closer for the Bobcats. During his junior season, Weaver had five saves with a 2.23 ERA, allowing 33 hits and seven walks, with 33 strikeouts and a .212 opponents’ batting average. He saw limited action in his senior year due to a shoulder injury that required labrum surgery.
Weaver holds a bachelor’s degree in applied arts and science from Texas State University. Weaver and his wife, Kassi, reside in Deer Park with their two sons, Easton and Nash.
