Ravens open 2026 season ranked No. 18 by NJCAA

The San Jacinto College baseball team enters the 2026 season ranked among the nation's elite junior college teams.

San Jac is ranked No. 18 in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I baseball preseason poll, as announced by the association Tuesday, Jan. 20. The Ravens are the second-highest ranked team from Region XIV, trailing only Blinn College, which is ranked No. 2 nationally.

The ranking follows a successful 2025 campaign in which the Ravens finished 39-17 overall and 28-8 in conference play, earning second place in the NJCAA Region XIV South Division. The team closed the regular season on a 22-3 run, demonstrating the resilience and chemistry head coach Eric Weaver has built within the program.

As the Ravens prepare for the 2026 season, they will look to build on the momentum established during their strong 2025 campaign.

"We have a very young team made up mostly of freshman, with a few sophomores returning from last year's super regional squad who we'll look to provide leadership," Weaver said. "As a staff, we're excited about how far this group has come since August and are looking forward to getting the season started and watching them continue to mature throughout the year."

The Ravens will open their home schedule at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, when they host Dodge City Community College at John Ray Harrison Field at Andy Pettitte Park.
